I have been lucky to have an insight to the Alexander James Interiors business and access to their portfolio of show homes. I’ve hand-picked ten of my favourite show homes (it was difficult to pick just ten!) and displayed them below. So, in no particular order, ten incredible show homes designed and installed by Alexander James Interiors…
Millgate Homes – High Warren
Each room has its own homely character whilst being impressively lavish and in keeping with cohesion with the neutral tone of the house. I especially love the feature wall below the staircase – the wall covering complements the remarkable mounted painting. The master bedroom isn’t far from my dream bedroom – a spacious room, grand windows and a padded, fabric head board – yes please!
Zafiro Homes – Ruby House, Beaconsfield
The more rooms I saw of this house the more I fell in love with it! From the extraordinary lighting, the striking wall hangings, the light grey, velvet touch floor coverings and the incredibly smart and impressive kitchen. The study in this house is definitely enough to motivate you to work (so you can afford a home like this and then to work in a study like that!)
Entertaining I can imagine would be made easy in a house like this – a magnificent dining room; a spacious kitchen & dining area; an accommodating living area and even your own bar!
I actually can’t compliment this home enough – well done Alexander James Interiors! The bathroom with the free standing bath is stunning and I can’t describe the bedrooms as anything less than dreamy! I’ve always dreamed of a boutique style dressing room with chaises and mirrors galore. The feature wall separating the dressing area and main sleeping area is genius. Why isn’t my student house like this? ☹ Maybe next year…
White Knight Developments
White Knight Development’s show home has a modernised interior whilst keeping in complete harmony with the country abode. This property is quite simply, a beautiful home in a beautiful location, it boasts gorgeous country views for miles!
Chase New Homes – 27a (Lancaster House), Beech Hill
Lighting is so important in a home and this property has nailed it – artificially and naturally! The lighting is well thought out and interrelated in every room – I especially love the central ceiling light in the master bedroom. The sky light is impeccable as it spans two floors. And, how’s that for a winding staircase?!
Hicks Developments – Maple House, Ascot
In my opinion, and obviously Alexander James Interiors’ opinion (great minds think alike, I guess), purple and grey are a winning combination, a power couple of interior design, and I LOVE the bedroom sporting these colours. My bedroom in my student house is currently decorated with greple, or purey. (Grey and purple power couple.) Unfortunately it’s not finished to quite a luxurious specification as Maple House.
It turns out, I’m a huge fan of a mirrored bath tub – who’d have thought it? I’d feel like a princess relaxing in my mirrored bath tub, admiring my framed Chanel posters after a long day of letting my husband bring in the income. I’m joking. I’d be far more content knowing I bought the bath tub, and the house (at least half of it), and taking a well-earned break after a VERY long day of grafting.
I also would like to compliment the elegant glass dining table – it must be a killer to keep clean though! (I’m sure they don’t tell the clients that, but if they did, I’m sure the clients wouldn’t mind – it’s definitely worth it.)
Countrywide Design – 27 Old London Road
Open plan living is definitely all the rage right now, and Alexander James Interiors has without doubt mastered it. A combined kitchen/living/dining area makes the home feel more spacious, it’s more social plus, it looks a hell of a lot better! I love the study, I love the black desk, I love the luxurious, pink fabric chair, I love the black fluffy pillow, my only imperfection to pick at? Real books! I’d love a study with floor to ceiling bookcases full of real books – but I guess that’s why currently I’m an English Literature student at the moment, not an interior designer. But if I was, you know what I’d do…
Signature Prime Property – Roedean
The large square tiles look clean and the sizing works perfectly in the open plan kitchen, living and dining area, these were sourced by Blanca Sanchez of Halo Interiors. The impressive glass bi-folds definitely accentuate the spacious open-plan area.
All the other rooms are also impeccably fitted with the perfect floor covering. I especially love the blue tinted wood style flooring and the grey textured carpet in the master bedroom.
However, my ultimate favourite two features of this house has to be the interesting chandelier that cascades down the centre of the staircase (source by Julia Sturges of Hydro Properties) and the dark wooden style, tiled wall covering in the entrance hall, by the staircase. This incredible feature wall is emphasised by the clean, off-white tiled flooring, also by Blanca of Halo Interiors.
Imperial Grove – Plot 5
The full height curtains through-out this house are so striking and they add miles to the room. O.k., probably not miles, however it definitely makes the room look more capacious and unquestionably more lavish! The chandelier above the dining room is definitely a exquisite focal point of the room.
